Hello Again!

So, yes I have been MIA for a long while. I got a new job back in August and it has been kicking my ass. I work long hours and sometimes I even work on Saturdays. Since it is doing something that I love, I don't complain. It just hasn't left much time for anything else.

I knitted a few projects over the last few months. Nothing to really write about. I am still trying to do the finishing of the grey sweater.

The unicorn hat I made for my boss to give as a Christmas gift. It went over big in the office.

There is so much I want to do and say, but I can never come up with anything when I am actually sitting down to write. What is up with that?

In Memorial

It has been at least a month since the last time anyone saw Cartman. We started letting her go outside and she got to the point where she did not want to come inside for anything. Later it seemed she was not eating. We were going to take her to the vet, but could not find her. She has yet to turn up. It is speculated that she has crawled in somewhere and passed away.

Even though we were merely her caretakers, she will be sorely missed. She was a mean cat who hated everyone but me. I came into her life in these latter years, but she treated me like I had always been there. She was afraid of her own shadow, but in the last six months she was finally standing up for herself. (Our other cat, Tiny Bastard, would terrorize her for fun.)

However, the carpets are glad she is gone.

Finally, I Have Pictures

All I have is a cell phone with a camera. So the picture quality is not that great. I do have some projects to talk about, but I can't give information on the yarn, because I didn't keep the labels. At least on the expensive stuff. So without further ado...

These three are from a knit along pattern I got from WendyKnits. It is called Shetland Pi Shawl KAL. The knit along started August of 2010, but it wasn't until last April that I found the yarn that I wanted to use. I had bought three skeins. Then when I finally started knitting on it September of 2011, I very quickly ran out of yarn. I bought four more skeins, ran out again, bought one more, and still had to shave off the last two rounds of the last chart in order to finish. These pictures are pre-blocking. I still need to weave in the ends before I wash and block.

Next up is a beautiful little skirt I am knitting for BESTFRIEND. This pattern I got off of It is called the Bell Curve and can be found here. This one I also started in September of 2011, but ran out of yarn. (What can I say, I was out of work so I had a lot of time on my hands but  no money.) The yarn is Caron Simply Soft in Grey Heather.

Lastly is the cross stitch I am working on. I bought this at least more than five years ago, but seeing as I am out of work yet again, I have yet more time on my hands. All that is shown in the picture I have done in the last three days. I now have blisters on my thumb and index finger.

BESTFRIEND took a ton of pictures of our place today, but I need her to tell me what everything is before I can post them on here. That just gives me something more to talk about later.

My Life Sucks

So back in August I moved. I didn't have the internet for a really long time. Now that I do, there is so much I want to look at and do. However, I can't seem to get my shit together and do anything. I have been out of work the last two months. Tomorrow in the light of day I will take some pictures of recent projects and of the new place. Tonight I just wanted to throw a pity party for myself. I keep saying I will write more later, but then later comes and I have still not written anything. My stories are still stuck in my head. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Until tomorrow I leave you with this picture of Cartman. This was taken before the move. I have to find her in order to take an after the move picture. She has been let outside, where she loves it and refuses to come in. Which is a good thing. Just ask anybody who has had to smell this place.

The title of this post has nothing to do with the actual post. I have been told that my life doesn't suck, but what do they know.

More Coming Soon!

It has been so long since I blogged, and I really don't have the time this morning. However, in the next few of days I will have so much to say. So much to update on. Now I must get back to work.

Monday Morning

It is always hard for me to get up Monday mornings, the start of the work week. I always feel that if I could just put it off, then my work week will go so much better. It never does. Last week I didn't work on Monday, so Tuesday felt like Monday all day.

It isn't that I have a five day work week. I wish that I did. I only work one to two days, and I go to school two days. However, the two days at school are also from 8:30 in the morning to sometimes 10:00 at night. So really, I do have a four day work week I just don't get paid for all of it. Even when I am at the office working, if I run out of things to actively do, then I "clock out" and work on non-work things. Today, for example, I need to take a midterm for my Budgeting class. That will be quite a few hours of my time.
The days just seem to drag on forever.

Happy Friday

TGIF! With all of my midterms this has been a tough week. And yes, I still have one more midterm to finish over the weekend. However, after I finish that and the two papers I need to write and clean the house, I should be able to just read, knit, and anything else I want to fill my time on.

Two more weeks before my airplane trip to Texas to visit Jen's parents. I am looking forward to it this year. I am trying to get all of my school work done in advance so that I can enjoy the week.

After that there will be just four more months before Jen and I move down there. Her dad is so excited. He already has a place picked out for us to live. We will get to see it during the week we are there.

In the knitting world, I am almost finished with the first skein on this last baby blanket that I want to do for a while. On my other project, I need to weave in the ends to the afghan, then wash it, block, and be done with it. It is the first afghan that I have made for myself. After I finish the baby blanket, I hope to do some work on the sweater for Alyssa. So far I have only managed to get the back done. As soon as I get home, (posting from the office again), I will take some pictures of what I am talking about. Even though I know no one is going to ever read this, it is nice to have my accomplishments out in cyberspace.

On that note, everyone have a wonderful and safe weekend!
